Meet Our Founder

ALEXIS CARRA-TRACEY

Alexis Carra-Tracey is a Catholic attorney, bioethics educator, and special-needs mother focused on reproductive ethics, pregnancy complication support, prenatal diagnosis navigation, and special-needs parenting. She accompanies women, couples, and families facing complex decisions with clarity, fidelity to the Church, and compassion – offering a roadmap for what to ask, who to contact, which supports to line up, and how to prepare for the next chapter.

Her work is deeply personal. Alexis endured an ectopic pregnancy and the emergency removal of a fallopian tube, and later navigated a prenatal diagnosis of Trisomy 21. Together with her husband, she is a devoted advocate for their daughter with Trisomy 21 – experience that shapes her approach with tenderness, realism, and strength.

Alexis holds a B.A. in Philosophy, an M.A. in Ethics, and a J.D., along with a Graduate Certificate in Dogmatic Theology and a Certificate in Child Protection & Safe Environment. She is currently pursuing the National Catholic Bioethics Center Certification Program in Health Care Ethics. Before launching Divine Flame, Alexis served as an attorney at the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York for over a decade, where she focused on matters involving child protection, law, bioethics, and public policy.

Through Divine Flame, Alexis offers the kind of accompaniment that she herself once longed for during pregnancy and postpartum – Catholic ethical guidance, practical preparation, and compassionate support for real decisions, real circumstances, and real family life. Her aim is to help women, couples, and families move forward with hope rather than fear.

Origin of Divine Flame

The name DIVINE FLAME evokes both light and fire in the Christian life. It points first to the light that comes from God alone – truth, moral clarity, and peace of conscience, especially when circumstances feel clouded by fear and uncertainty. It also calls to mind the flame of the Holy Spirit, who brings wisdom, courage, discernment, and love. Divine Flame reflects the hope that even in difficult situations, God brings light where there is confusion and grants the grace needed for the road ahead.

Our Patron Saints

People gathered inside a cave with a religious statue of the Virgin Mary at the altar. The altar is adorned with lit candles, and there are plants and flowers around. The statue is positioned within a natural rock formation, and some individuals are seen praying or observing.

Our Lady of Lourdes

Patroness of healing, hope, and motherly intercession in times of suffering.

Divine Flame invokes Our Lady of Lourdes in prayer for individuals, couples, unborn children, children with special-needs, and families carrying heavy medical and spiritual burdens.

saint joan of arc

Divine Flame looks to Saint Joan of Arc as a patron of steadfastness and trust in God’s guidance.

A geneticist best known for discovering the chromosomal cause of Trisomy 21 and defending the dignity every human life.

Divine Flame turns to Jérôme Lejeune as a patron of truth and compassionate care for families facing prenatal diagnoses and special-needs parenting.

What Makes Divine Flame Unique?

Divine Flame offers distinct accompaniment – combining Catholic ethical guidance, practical preparation, and compassionate support for decisions that are medically, emotionally, and morally complex.

We do not replace your medical team, your priest, or your therapist. Instead, Divine Flame brings together…

  • Personal one-on-one guidance, not generic advice

  • Expertise in Catholic moral teaching applied to real situations

  • Lived experience of pregnancy loss, prenatal diagnosis, and special-needs parenthood

  • The spirit of an attorney and the heart of an advocate

And most importantly…

Prayer is at the center of Divine Flame.

We hold in prayer the women, couples, children, and families we serve. We approach every circumstance with complete trust in God.
